 Lots of online casinos offer both Flash and Download versions of their online casino software. As an affiliate, what is the best to promote - downloadable online casino software or non-downloadable? This article looks at the pros and cons of each and comes to a very pragmatic conclusion.
Playing casino games in the browser is more immediate. People can play these games at work so you're opening yourselves to a wider audience as there are no problems with downloading. Players can get on and play instantly as there is no downloading required. On the downside, flash games are not as feature rich and some non-download casinos have problems with certain browsers. Downloadable casinos have been around for a lot longer and usually offer a much better user experience. Graphics are usually better and the applications are more feature rich as the software developers spend more time on the downloadable products. There are usually more games to play on the downloadable products and having a desktop icon on the computer will make it quicker for players to click and play. So which is the most profitable and which should we be promoting as casino affiliates? Operators will usually make more money from downloable casinos. Speaking to one of Playtech's licensees we understand that the ratio is 70% of the revenue comes from download and 30% comes from non-download. Generally speaking, if thats what the operators are making the money from then thats what the affiliates are making their money from too. Obviously its not as clear cut as this (is anything?) You need to bear in mind the demographics of the visitors to your site. Most casinos offer both download and non-download versions of their software. Why not hedge our bets and promote both? |
